Welcome to my "staycationing" experiences!

What is "stayctioning"?  This is my concept about going on vacation without having to leave my "backyard" and paying a lot of money, while feeling like I traveled all around the world.  Our economy is in a state of recovery, however; people don't have the money to vacation anywhere they choose to anymore.  I am one of those people.

For the first time I was able to do something fun while on vacation from my job.  I work at a Career school and every year we have a "shut down" for the week of July 4th and a week for Christmas.  The only problem was that I was working two jobs and going to school full-time, so there was not much time for vacationing.  I asked myself these questions....Where would I find the time?  Where would I get the money?  Where can I go?

In 2008 I decided that I was going to take off a week in the summer from my part-time job, since I was off from my full-time job and was on break from school.  This was the first time I had done something like this, so I decided this was going to be a vacation of "firsts".  I had nothing planned, but I knew I wanted to do things I had never done before.  When I shared my desire with my family and friends, they were excited for me and told me that I deserved it.  I invited some of them....now I want to invite you into my staycation experiences.  Won't you come?  It's just a click away.

Englishtown Auction, New Jersey 

This is my gang hanging out at the Englishtown Flea Market.  What an awesome experience!  There were so many stands set up that offered a variety of items.  I had never been to a flea market such as this one....so large...and so many bargains!  We spent little money, but came home with a lot of neat stuff.  There were so many people visiting that day and having a good time.  So much to choose from.  It was an opportunity to "shop till you drop" and still go home with money in your pocket.  It took only two hours to get there.  You can visit on a Saturday or on a Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Check it out for yourself!
